Is it the pill or my husband? When your sex drive goes down the drain…

Not a week goes by without a patient asking me about sex drive. Unfortunately for women, our sex drive is not strictly linked to physical attraction. For many women, it is not as simple as getting into bed with our partners to get our sexual desires peaked. Women’s libidos are linked to our overall well being. We need to feel like the kids are settled, the dishes are put away, the bills are paid and all the items on our mental ‘to do’ list have been checked off before we can even think about having sex. The saying – the sexiest thing your husband can do is clean the kitchen – has some truth to it. Women typically put their own sexual satisfaction at the bottom of the priority list. By the time you are actually in bed at the end of the day – you are there to sleep. I typically recommend a plan for intimacy… If you would like to discuss further, please feel free to make an appointment to talk…
